This year is the 41st Anniversary of the Terry Fox Run, and we would like to try to raise $4100. How did this all start? At the age of 18, Terry Fox was diagnosed with osteogenic sarcoma and was forced to have his right leg amputated. Determined to help others suffering from cancer, he decided to run across Canada, running a marathon a day for 143 days, to raise funds for cancer research. Unfortunately, Terry’s cancer returned and he was forced to end his Marathon of Hope, but his legacy had only just begun.
Over the years the Terry Fox Foundation has raised over $850,000,000 and launched a Terry Fox Research Institute that has significantly improved the outcomes of cancer research for patients. Cancer has touched most families in some way, and so the continued support for this charity is still very much needed. Please consider donating to this worthy cause. All donations, no matter the amount, are eligible for a tax receipt. This will be sent directly from the Terry Fox Foundation.
