AP Capstone
Students who are entering Grade 11 and who are seeking greater challenges can apply to enrol into the Advanced Placement (AP) Capstone Diploma Program. Burnaby South has been selected as one of only 4 schools in BC, and only 10 in Canada to offer the innovative program in its inaugural year. The program consists of students taking the two courses in their last two years of secondary school consisting of AP Seminar in Grade 11 and AP Research in Grade 12. Students engage in the rigorous development of skills critical for post-secondary success in inquiry, research, collaboration, and writing. Students are also given the opportunity to research a topic that they choose and are passionate about.
