AP Awards and Scholarships
The Advanced Placement Program gives special recognition to students who excel on the AP Exams. Students are given various titles depending on their results and the number of exams they write.
SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS
AP National Scholar * granted to students in Canada who receive an average grade of at least 4 on all AP Exams taken, AND * grades of 4 or higher on five or more AP Exams.
AP Scholar with Distinction * granted to students who receive an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, AND * grades of 3 or higher on five or more AP exams
AP Scholar with Honours * granted to students who receive an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, AND * grades of 3 or higher on four or more AP exams
AP Scholar * granted to students who receive grades of 3 or higher * need to write three or more AP Exams
AP Capstone Diploma * granted to students who receive a grade of 3 or higher on BOTH AP Seminar and AP Research, AND * grades of 3 or higher on four additional AP Exams.
AP Capstone Certificate * granted to students who receive a grade of 3 or higher on BOTH AP Seminar and AP Research, BUT * do not have four additional AP Exams with grades of 3 or higher.
AP International Diploma * granted to students who receive a grade of 3 or higher on 5 or more AP exams, AND * 2 must be AP World Language or English Exams, 1 AP exam offering a global perspective, 1 AP exam from sciences/math/computer science and 1 additional AP exam that is not English or a world language.
Note: AP National Scholars Canada Award has been discontinued as of 2021.
